MAHAKUMBH!

This blog is all about my unforgettable experience at the Maha Kumbh 2025 , with a little exploration of Prayagraj and Varanasi to wrap it up. I'll take you through the Maha Kumbh Mela, showcasing what it offered and why OVER HALF A BILLION PEOPLE gathered here to take a holy dip in the sacred Triveni Sangam. The Legend Behind Kumbh But first, let's dive into the history of Kumbh Mela—how it all started and why it holds such deep significance. The origins of Kumbh Mela trace back to the Samudra Manthan (Churning of the Ocean), a legendary event in Hindu mythology. During this cosmic battle, gods (Devas) and demons (Asuras) fought for the divine nectar of immortality (Amrit). As Lord Vishnu's celestial carrier, Garuda, flew across the skies carrying the Amrit, a few drops spilled at four places: Prayagraj, Haridwar, Ujjain, and Nashik. These places became the sacred sites where Kumbh Mela is celebrated. The Kumbh Mela occurs in cycles: Every 12 years at each of the four si...

Nashik - Weekend, Wine & Wonder

They say the best trips are unplanned. I don’t think that’s completely true, but… if the odds are in your favor, who else has the power to stop you, right? Well, this weekend, we decided to go to Nashik . Now, when Nashik’s on the plan, there’s one thing you have to do – visit Sula Vineyards. Man, that’s something everyone recommends, and it’s really worth it. It was early December and very cold in Nashik. We weren’t up until 7 am – we just couldn’t. We arrived late at night, and since we were meeting after a long time, we stayed up talking, having fun, and discussing life and work. Because of that, and the chilly morning temperatures, we just couldn’t get out of our blankets. Eventually, we got up, left our rooms, and headed to the backwaters. It wasn’t quite what we expected it to be. Of course, it’s not great to go Sula Vineyards early in the morning. Instead, you can hang out by the backwaters of the Godavari like we did. We hadn’t planned much for it or seen any pictures before...

Goa Beaches!

Goa Beyond Beaches? Nah, It Is the Beaches! When it comes to Goa, everyone thinks about beaches. You come here, get changed into a Goan outfit, and head straight out to a beach. That's where the fun is, that's where the vibe is, right? Whenever I plan for Goa, I put in at least 6-7 must-visit beaches every time. It's not just about different views or scenery, But every beach has its own story, its own vibe, and its own culture.  Candolim Beach – The Premium North Goa Vibe I believe that Candolim Beach is the best beach in North Goa. It has good sand and a better vibe. We had a great time swimming at this beach during the afternoon period, it has great waves. Although there's the thing with North Goan beaches that you can't swim freely in some places because of the boats coming and going, and of course the crowd, so that might be some trouble but if you find a good spot it'll be fantastic. Moreover, Candolim is a great place to chill out as many foreign touri...

The food in Goa!

Goa Through My Taste Buds – A Foodie’s Journey into Goan Flavors I’ve always been a fan of exploring the diverse cultures of different cities. This year, when we visited Goa, I had a complete list of things to do—but let’s be honest, food topped the list. Being a total foodie, Goa was hands-down one of the best places to satisfy all my culinary cravings. I came with a long list of foods to try in Goa—some I managed, some I couldn’t due to time (and budget!). But here’s how it all went down... Pork Vindaloo – Goa’s Tangy, Spicy Welcome We kicked off with Pork Vindaloo , a true Goan delicacy rooted in Portuguese history. It's pork simmered in a tangy-spicy vindaloo gravy, made with vinegar and red chilies. The meat was perfectly fatty and paired beautifully with steamed rice. That first bite was a bold and flavorful welcome into Goan cuisine. Chicken Cafreal – Heat You Can’t Ignore Later that night came Chicken Cafreal , a fiery green Goan curry I’d never tasted before. Made from gre...
